Sound of Sublime

Professionally known as Jay Sublime, Jhonnathan Sanchez (born October 30th in the Dominican Republic) is a recording artist, songwriter, and performer from Harlem and South Jamaica Queens New York.

Sublime fell in love with music at an early age, but how could he not with his family always playing some type of music at every opportunity, not even counting the musical world found in the city subways. For Sublime neither genre nor the language mattered as long as he could feel the rhythm. In the 9th grade, the discovery of a CD player containing a mixed disc with the works of Tupac and Nas, impacted him like nothing before. Sublime found himself sent into the world of Hip Hop, where he encountered artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Andre 3000, 50 Cent, going all the way to Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Joyner Lucas, and more. His Newfound passion for music grew with each day passing and eventually inspired him to start creating music of his own. In 2011, he wrote his first song "Long Road" which earned him strong criticism, but this only fueled his motivation to improve and hone his abilities in the craft.

He soon began working on developing his sound with a young artist named "Steven Royale" and producer "SupaEazyBeatz" in their homemade studio. Royale along with Eazy and Nacio Baron grew to later create the production trio "Starlordz".  Sublime became a major feature in the album project “Bitter Side of Love”. In songs like “Live For The Moment”, “Someone Else”, "M.I.A." and "90 On A 30". At the same time, Sublime met someone who would soon become a great friend, the producer tuTo, with whom he continued to experiment creatively mixing different sounds and vocal styles.

In 2019 he released Brakes on E, his first single as an independent artist released through his record label: Sublimation Records. As an artist and songwriter, sublime portrays himself through the storytelling of his life experiences, as a young father, relationships, encounters with the law, and his views on society. His style can be described as catchy, lyrical, and  music with a message. Highly skilled at harmonizing on hooks and changing flows seamlessly. Sublime drives his audience into a deep listening experience, capturing various emotions like pain, love, and fury provided in his vocal performances.

After relocating from New York City, Miami and now ATL, Sublime is currently working with his Producer "tuTo" on a New Single Called "Never The Same". A song based on the true story of sublime's life, when at the age of just 12 years old, he was robbed with a knife to his throat. Sublime delivers his storytelling abilities along with melodic harmony hooks that bring you right into the experience. His words tell a deep story of hindrances that keep you at the edge wanting more.
